Mandarin Caridina Shrimp (Caridina sp.)

The Mandarin Caridina Shrimp is a beautiful freshwater dwarf shrimp, prized for its vibrant orange colouration and active, peaceful nature. Their intense tangerine tones create a striking contrast against dark substrates, mosses and natural wood, making them a standout addition to any planted aquarium.

These constantly active shrimp spend their day grazing on biofilm, algae and microscopic food particles, helping to keep the aquarium clean while providing endless interest. They thrive in mature aquariums with stable water conditions, plenty of mosses, botanicals and hiding places.

Mandarin Caridina are ideal for dedicated shrimp aquariums or peaceful community tanks with other small, shrimp-safe species. Under the right conditions they will breed in freshwater, producing tiny miniature shrimplets that are fascinating to watch as they grow.
