Catappa Almond Leaves

A natural aquarium favourite, Catappa Almond Leaves (Indian Almond Leaves) are ideal for creating a more natural, enriched environment for fish, shrimp and snails.

As the leaves slowly break down, they release natural tannins into the water and provide a valuable grazing surface for shrimp, fry and other small aquarium inhabitants. The developing biofilm is especially beneficial for young shrimp and fry.

Catappa leaves are particularly popular in Betta, shrimp, Corydoras, Pleco and blackwater-style aquariums, where they can help recreate the leaf-litter conditions found in many natural habitats.

Benefits include:

  • Provides natural cover and enrichment
  • Ideal for raising fry
  • Encourages beneficial biofilm and grazing
  • Releases natural tannins
  • Excellent for shrimp, fry and bottom-dwelling fish
  • Helps create a natural blackwater-style appearance
  • Can be left in the aquarium until almost completely broken down

Simply rinse before use and place directly into the aquarium. The leaf may initially float before becoming waterlogged and sinking naturally.

🌿 Natural, simple and loved by aquatic life.
