L236 SW – Super White Hypancistrus Pleco
The L236SW (Super White) is an exceptional line-bred Hypancistrus, prized for its intensely bright white base colour and dramatic black patterning. Selectively bred over generations for increased white coverage and strong contrast, these are among the most eye-catching and sought-after plecos in the hobby.
No two fish are exactly alike. As they mature, each develops its own individual pattern of bold black markings over a clean white background, making every L236 SW genuinely unique.
Despite their striking appearance, L236 SW are relatively manageable plecos and are well suited to a peaceful, mature aquarium. Provide plenty of caves, shaded retreats, good water movement and excellent filtration. Like other Hypancistrus, they appreciate warm, highly oxygenated water and consistently high water quality.
They are primarily omnivorous with a strong preference for protein-rich foods. A varied diet of quality sinking foods, specialist pleco foods and occasional frozen foods will help maintain excellent condition and growth.
