L134 Leopard Frog Pleco – Peckoltia compta
The L134 Leopard Frog Pleco is a striking and highly sought-after dwarf pleco, instantly recognisable by its bold cream-to-yellow base colour covered with contrasting dark bands and irregular markings. Each fish develops its own unique pattern, making them a real standout in a well-planted or natural-style aquarium.
Reaching around 10–12cm, L134s are an excellent choice for aquarists wanting a beautifully patterned pleco without the size of many larger species. They are generally peaceful and can be kept alongside suitable community fish, Corydoras and other non-aggressive bottom dwellers, provided there are plenty of caves and hiding places available.
Despite being a pleco, the Leopard Frog is not primarily an algae eater. It is an omnivore with a preference for protein-rich foods and should be offered a varied diet including quality sinking pellets or wafers, frozen foods and occasional vegetable-based foods.
